Cuba

Since this is the big birthday and 40 is the new 20 (at least that is what I am telling myself), we couldn't stop with New Orleans. Since Jimmy and Duane are both 40 - a group of us decided that a trip to sand sun and ocean is also in order!

We headed over the first week in March with 10 friends and had a fantastic time.

Our resort was beautiful

Jimmy showing off his cooking skills

We headed into Havana for the day and stopped at this pretty lookout

The view of downtown Havana from the old fortress

 The old cars were gorgeous

Hemingways favorite haunt

A trip to Cuba isn't complete without a shot of their famous cigars

I loved all the bright colours

We were able to climb into a '59 chevy for a trip into Varadero

We loved every minute of this beautiful country.

And Part II

For all those of you patiently waiting - here is part 2 of our lovely little weekend!

We guided ourselves around the garden district (which included an Archie Manning sighting)!

The homes were stunning!

The cemetery is right out of Double Jeopardy!

So much beautiful stained glass!

The verandas were beautiful artwork on every home.

We got to take in a couple mardi gras parades.

And of course the trip wouldn't be complete without a little Barq's and a Po'Boy

The Big Easy Part 1

Jimmy and I had the opportunity to check out the  Big Easy in January and loved every minute of it.

We stayed at a gorgeous hotel:

We checked out Bourbon Street:

We wandered around the French Quarter

You will just have to wait to see what else we did . . .
