Soon . . .

I get to see my family soon
It will be the first time since the engagement
People have commented that I have a new glow
I wonder if my mom will notice

I get to see my family soon
I have missed them terribly
Especially my nephews and all their new adventures
I can't wait for them to negotiate the seats beside me at the dinner table

I get to see my family soon
And the prairie harvest
Fall is my favorite time of year in Saskatchewan
It means chats with my dad and brother on the combine with the smell of grain heavily in the air

I get to see my family soon
It seems like forever since I have tasted their coffee
And sat down on that familiar couch
And caught up on all the news with Kim

I get to see my family soon!!!!!!!

PEI

We took a little trip over to PEI for a few days and saw so many delightful things:

  • a lovely old home that I would have liked to stay in
  • the waterfront
  • beaches of red
  • green gables and the haunted wood
  • the lighthouse where the first Titanic distress signal was received in Canada

Road trips a plenty

Sorry for the lack of posts as of late - but it isn't due to laziness!!! Rather it is because I had to travel far and wide over the last 5 weeks to find any semblance of summer. Apparently Calgary decided we could do without summer this year. I don't agree but no one bothered asking me . . .

So alas, I promise you some beautiful pics and stories of places as far east as PEI as far west as Washington and as far south as Texas! And along the way - I found more than a little sunshine!!

One of my favorite places

Jimmy needed to swing down to Waterton on business, so of course I wouldn't miss the opportunity to tag along. It is so beautiful!

Could you imagine coming through on the train or on a local boat to spend a week at this hotel when it first opened? You can almost here the laughter over a friendly croquet game.

We did the bear's hump hike. The views from the top were truly breathtaking . . . or maybe I was just breathless from climbing the equivalent to 66 stories over the length of 1km in 20 minutes? . . .

. . .  no - the views were definitely awe inspiring!
