For those of you who haven't heard the exciting news yet, Jimmy bought me a beautiful new camera for Christmas. I think deep down this was a present that both of us are excited about but it certainly was something that I have been saving up for and am so very excited about it.
Within the hour of tearing off the paper (okay okay maybe it was more 'carefully removing the paper so as to not rip it more than required'), I was on the computer finding a photography class. Jimmy's cousin, C.Ann , decided that this was a perfect opportunity for her to venture past the green auto feature and so eagerly signed up with me.
Our first class was fabulous. I learned all about focus and focus area. Each week we will have a little assignment to do. Here's a pic from assignment 1:
My dad loves to tell the story of when I passed my drivers license test. Dad was waiting for me at Nehr's as I pulled up in the extended cab truck and learned my fate. I felt so elated, walked into the store and exclaimed that I was now a 'free woman'. I have never looked back! But rather embarked on a life long passion to explore the world.

So many choices . . . Where shall we go next
So, it is about that time. Back into the insanity of work and feeling as though Christmas vacation was too long ago; the weather is beautiful out right now in Calgary causing me to gaze out the window longingly wishing that rather than creating road maps and project charters I was going for long walks and trying out my new camera; I know this weather will not stay and so I feel the itch in my britches to put a travel plan in place that will allow me to escape the winter blues.
This rambling leads me to the real heart of this post - now where?
But this is one of the most exciting parts of traveling - the dreaming . . . tonight I think I shall dream about a delicious meal in San Diego and tomorrow, well tomorrow's dream will be snorkeling in clear warm ocean water seeing the beauty of the floor below!
This rambling leads me to the real heart of this post - now where?
- San Diego is promising weather in the mid 20's and everyone tells me it is more fantastic than San Francisco and I don't know how that could be possible
- Las Vegas is always a guaranteed good time when you are traveling with fantastic friends
- Do we save our money and our vacation days to head somewhere South or will new babies be ready to travel in September?
But this is one of the most exciting parts of traveling - the dreaming . . . tonight I think I shall dream about a delicious meal in San Diego and tomorrow, well tomorrow's dream will be snorkeling in clear warm ocean water seeing the beauty of the floor below!

Made It
I did make it to the beautiful city of Nashville! Unfortunately I worked for every spare minute possible and so do not have any fabulous pics to share with you, nor any anecdotes. But I can tell you that Nashville at Christmas is absolutely fabulous. If you ever get a chance to check out this city - I would strongly recommend you do so!!!
